Letʼs start with a famous quote, attributed to American author Richard Peck:
“When I read a good book, it’s like traveling the world without ever leaving my chair.”
I love both travelling and reading, and what better way to combine those two passions than reading travel literature? Especially at times when youʼre stuck at home, dreaming of vacation time.
The main focus of this blog will, of course, remain on World Heritage Sites. At some stage, the large amount of notes and photos from twenty-odd years of travels that I am still working into blog posts will be used up, though. And with a full-time job, there is only so much time to travel. – Naturally, I would love to travel full-time and write about it, but so far I havenʼt managed to land a job that would pay me for the privilege. Hope never dies, I suppose.
In any case, I was looking into ways of ensuring (semi-)regular publications even when I cannot travel much. Add the fact that I can never shut up about books I love, and this new category was born.
My plan is to mix it up between travelogues, expedition reports and novels that contain travel elements. Hopefully, youʼll enjoy reading my reviews; if you have suggestions for books that I should read and cover here, please let me know in the comments.
